Q Residences

By 20-12-2022

Amsterdam has gained a landmark. On Monday 12 December, the opening of an architecturally daring but urban carefully embedded apartment complex took place in the garden city of Buitenveldert: Q Residences. This complex, which covers an area of 27,600 m2 and comprises 248 rental flats, consists of a plaza and two residential buildings: the medium-height Qube and the tall, dashing Quartz. For this project, developer Kroonenberg Group engaged American star architect Jeanne Gang. Amsterdam-based firm Rijnboutt took care of the urban design and acted as co-architect. NEOO was responsible for development management from master plan to realisation. Contractor J.P. van Eesteren realised the construction.

Unveiling of Studio Job sculpture
On the beautiful plaza, designed and planted by Piet Oudolf, Reinier van Dantzig, alderman for Housing and Urban Development, together with Jeanne Gang and Lesley Bamberger, unveiled the Studio Job creation: a man-sized sculpture expressing the Q logo. Among those present were Piet Boon, Frederik Molenschot, Petra Blaisse and Job Smeets, the artists who had an important part in the beautification of this iconic complex.
