ReUse, ReTouch, ReDutch

By 18-12-2014

Pop-Up Exhibition on Sustainable Dutch Design in Washington
Quite some visitors, positive feedback and media attention, such as an article in the Washington Post. During three days the pop-up exhibition ‘ReUse, ReTouch, ReDutch’ on sustainable Dutch Design was on show in Washington DC (USA). Two days in the Dutch embassy and one day at the Newseum, a cross over between a museum and an (interactive) educational center.

‘Whether we are reclaiming land or reclaiming our future, the Dutch have always been pragmatic and innovative in figuring out durable, smart solutions for the challenges facing us. Being Dutch inherently means pushing boundaries when tackling problems,’ the embassy wrote in the press release.

With about fifty products the exhibition, curated by the Eindhoven based office Yksi Design, communicated the Netherlands’ proclivity for green innovation and sustainability. Leonne Cuppen (Yksi Design), Piet Hein Eek (famous for his scrap wood designs) and Tejo Remy & René Veenhuizen (pioneers in sustainable and social design) also gave presentations.
