Sculptaal

By 18-01-2015

In 2007, Joris Visser graduated cum laude from Design Academy Eindhoven with, among other projects, the project Sculptaal, which is dedicated to designing language and new words.

Soon after, the book ‘Sculptaal’ appeared at publishing house D’ Jonge Hond and Joris Visser started his own company, focused on design with naming as a basis. In 2010 and 2011, Sculptaal was a daily section in NRC.next, in which every day a newly designed word was presented, based on topical developments. To this day, Bureau Sculptaal continues spreading word creations through social media such as Twitter and Facebook.

As a communication designer, Joris provides logos, corporate styles, books, presentations, exhibitions, lectures and design for public spaces. In his designs, logic and ratio play a prominent role. He strives for truth and exactitude in concept, form, meaning, and production method. He searches for innovation and originality, is not averse to humor and plays with the limits of existing rules and frameworks.
