Silver Museum of the Netherlands Schoonhoven

By 03-03-2015

The modernised Silver Museum aims for a larger audience than before. Families with children can now enjoy the new museum to their heart’s content. Highlights from the permanent exhibition are incorporated into the World of Silver, a light-hearted and appealing presentation devised and designed by Tinker imagineers. Fun and wonder are central to the exhibition.

The eyecatcher is a 46-foot long dining table. The set table with silverware, lit candles, plates and tablespoons displays an air of festivity and grandeur. At the same time, it is a timeline. Visitors are shown how different styles have changed over the centuries. The silverware are multimedial presentations explaining the story behind all the different styles.
The fact that silver is not merely used for dining can be seen in the eleven themed cabinets around the dining table. Each cabinet tells a different story with its accompanying atmosphere. At the sides of the cabinets, there are show boxes displaying funny observations, games, anecdotes and personal clips.
