Interior office Sterk Werk

By 14-12-2015

The FINEST INTERIOR AWARD aims to honor interior design in various categories. This year, there were 19 winners in 18 categories – from office to private yacht, from retail to restaurant. The ceremony took place at the Dutch Embassy in Berlin. SchilderScholte architects from Rotterdam received two awards.

In the category Interior Design with Color, the award went to the project Sterk Werk. For the communications agency Sterk Werk, SchilderScholte combined the instructions and wishes – industrial and well organized, no-nonsense and stylishly hip, dynamic with a homely feel – quite literally into an interior concept for Sterk Werk’s new office.

A large, architectural gesture was introduced to structure the huge space both in terms of logistics and perception. The many windows at street level of the former headquarters of the Koninklijke Rotterdamsche Lloyd provide an excellent view of the 32 m long space-dividing piece of furniture. Made of several hundred IKEA Lack tables, it depicts an abstract representation of the Rotterdam skyline, the silhouette of which is also visible in the floor pattern.
