Symposium ‘Grafisch & Magazines’

By 25-03-2016

Stichting PRINT (PRINT Foundation) organizes projects and activities focused on the Dutch graphic design and typography at various locations in the Netherlands. PRINT is an initiative of Paulina de Nijs, who sees it as her mission to acquaint a wider audience with the work of the many talented designers in our country.

PRINT organizes activities such as exhibitions, a typography manifestation and symposia; it presents young talent in public places and contributes to publications and presentations in order to bring graphic design and typography closer to a wide audience. PRINT wants designers, students and the public to meet each other, to learn from each other and to inspire each other.

The very first PRINT symposium takes place on Thursday, May 26. This symposium is themed ‘Graphics & Magazines’ and it illuminates the subject ‘magazines’ from very different angles. Six speakers have been invited to contribute to the symposium, which takes place in the Nieuwe Buitensociëteit in Zwolle. Speakers are: Kirsten Algera (indie magazine MacGuffin), William van Giessen (designer magazines and organizer of Facing Pages-Festival), Tjeerd Hoppenbrouwers (Dutch Giraffe about online magazines), de Stalinski’s (illustrators and makers of DIY-magazine ‘Zuster’), Robert Thiemann (Frame Publishers) and  Matthias Boswinkel (Studio Room, makers of Linda Magazine).

The ticket sales starts on March 21 via stichtingprint.nl
Early bird tickets are available at € 95 (students € 65); as from May 1 the price of a ticket is € 120 (students € 85).
