On 4 July the new typeface Typewood is introduced, a project by (typo)graphic lab Novo Typo, in collaboration with Lenoirschuring and Grafisch Werkcentrum Amsterdam.
Novo Typo experimented with multi-colored, multi-layered woodtype, produced by hypermodern CNC milling machines and printed on antique letterpress proofpresses. Every single sign consists of four different print runs.
The story of how this type came to be and the results of the process are caught in a limited-edition publication set and printed by Lenoirschuring. This brochure, with a preface by Jan Middendorp, will be for sale at Grafisch Werkcentrum Amsterdam.
