Visual identity National Military Museum

By 02-05-2015

The new National Military Museum (NMM) in Soesterberg tells the story of the present, the past and the future of the Dutch Armed Forces. Fabrique obtained the contract to develop a visual identity for the NMM and the Ministry of Defense Museums.

Fabrique: “The National Military Museum gives visitors a look behind the scenes of the otherwise tightly closed world of Defense. This openness is reflected in the design of the building and it was also the point of departure for the visual identity. The new logo, with its reference to heraldry, is simultaneously robust and open.

By building up all elements from one continuous line, we succeeded in creating a recognizable form language that can also be carried out in 3D or through lasering. The unbroken line connects the means of communication and signage in the museum.

Assuming ‘high endorsement’, we also brought the various logos of the Defense Museums into line. Each of them provided with its own characteristic color and historical symbolism, they do form one clear visual family.”
