Whole

By 16-09-2016

Dutch photographers Freudenthal/Verhagen present ‘Whole’, a tribute to their oeuvre. The book will be released in a softcover edition and in a collectible hardcover edition with original photographic print (limited edition of 150).

‘Whole’ is dedicated to the weird and wonderful body of work of fashion and fine art photographers Carmen Freudenthal and Elle Verhagen, dating back to the start of their collaboration in 1989. Edited and designed by art director Karen Heuter, the publication is a journey into their surreal, colorful and quaint universe.

‘Whole’ contains a selection of 150 works by Freudenthal/Verhagen, decontextualized from their original series and chronology and re-arranged by color. Introductions were contributed by Erik Kessels, Bernhard Willhelm, José Teunissen and Mo Veld. The book will be available from selected bookshops worldwide from the 1st of October 2016.

Erik Kessels: “For over two decades Freudenthal and Verhagen have been consistently working in their very own style that can be described as slightly surrealistic and hyperrealistic. It’s a unique style that has opened up many opportunities in photography.”
