Woolmark Prize Europe 2015/16

By 11-09-2015

Nanna van Blaaderen has been acclaimed winner of the womenswear category in the final of the International Woolmark Prize Europe 2015/16. The regional winners will be asked to develop a capsule collection of Merino Wool. They receive a financial contribution of € 34,000 and take part in the international final of the Woolmark Prize.

The jury for the womenswear category consisted of An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx (designers A.F. Vandevorst), Justin O’Shea, Christiane Arp, John de Greef and Colin McDowell. An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx: “The jury can’t wait to see how Nanna’s collection for the international final is going to turn out. She has shown a very solid foundation; she radiated the greatest potential. You can see that she loves wool and that she has the fiber under control – she created an almost three-dimensional feeling and texture.”

Nanna van Blaaderen: “I’m overwhelmed. I’ve always worked with wool and I wouldn’t want to work in any other way.”
