How We Work, new Dutch Design

By 26-01-2015

After the first wave and the success of Dutch Design, young designers are breaking new ground. The exhibition ‘How We Work’ presents fifteen contemporary Dutch designers. This committed generation is concerned about the profusion of things, objects and design knickknacks surrounding us. They look around, asking themselves: what can we do to change things?

Their work process is exploratory and leads to new insights, processes and solutions. Materials, techniques and design process are reviewed. The merits of traditional arts and crafts are reassessed. Innovation arises from reflection. Meticulous research into material and color may or may not go hand in hand with the latest production techniques and innovations.

The youngest generation of Dutch Design are a new kind of world citizens: internationally and locally oriented – pragmatic as well as idealistic.
