World Expo 2015

By 04-05-2015

Nutrition and everything related is the central theme of the exhibit of the Netherlands in the World Expo 2015 in Milan. For centuries the Dutch have come up with solutions for issues around food, water and energy and we do this in our own particular way: Share Grow Live.

Totems Amsterdam (also situated in Stuttgart, Düsseldorf and Sjanghai) is responsible for the concept & design of the Dutch pavilion, a cooperation with Gielissen Interiors & Exhibitions and DVP Europe Eventmarketing.

The central theme “Share, Grow, Live” represents the Dutch culture and its food-industry from research, production over distribution and consumption. The pavilion is a very open setup with a total size of 20 x 120 m. It has a very central position on the Expo site, with the Italian, French and Vatican pavilions as immediate neighbours.

Share – searching for solutions to global challenges requires international collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and natural resources. Grow – finding solutions for worldwide challenges such as food security, food safety and the sustainable use of water, energy and other resources. And Live – more and more people, in search of ever higher qualities of life: this requires many solutions.

This story is told at the pavilion through a central exhibition and temporary shows about, among others the future of fruits and vegetables, new ways of producing food and the relationship between food and technology. Food art and artificial food aren’t forgotten either. It’s presented like a festival.
