Become a Digital Design Master

By 04-01-2019

ONE WEEK ABOUT Digital Design curated by Bert Hagendoorn

The Master Digital Design programme (MDD) of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam educates a new breed of designers fluent in the digital language and with an international perspective on societal challenges. It takes in the best practices from the prestigious Dutch design to a global dimension.

MDD was founded by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS/HvA) and nine leading Dutch digital agencies: ACHTUNG! mcgarrybowen, BBDO Amsterdam, DDB Tribal, Dept, Fabrique, MediaMonks, Mirabeau, Momkai, and Woedend!

Every year 24 students from across the globe are chosen from hundreds of applications through a rigorous selection process. Part of the core of the programme is to celebrate diversity, striving for a mix of undergraduates and professionals with a varied experience in and/or outside the design fields.

Over the course of the master programme students are grouped in multidisciplinary teams who work on real-life projects reflecting societal challenges.

Work produced so far includes: Introbots(meant to better understand communication with and from introverts), Minicipality(a game facilitating citizen participation on their municipality’s polies), and The Network(a game demonstrating the challenges of maintaining data infrastructure in the age of the Internet).
