Studio Floris Wubben was founded in 2009. The work of the studio is sold in galleries and shops in the Netherlands and abroad. The objects designed by Studio Floris Wubben are manufactured in their own workshop.
In recent years, the studio has focused increasingly on the design of machines and processes. In the last three projects – Pressed Project, Hammered Bowls and the Globe Project – self-designed machines form an important part of the creative process.
The low-tech machinery serially manufactures unique objects. The combination of the use of natural materials such as ceramics and the influence of the designer on the making process lead to the characteristic shapes.
Nature is a recurring element in the work of Studio Floris Wubben. With minimal adjustments, natural products are transformed into functional objects such as the Stripped Lamp and the Upside Down Chair.
