White shirts and skinny jeans: chances are you have them in your closet. The selection is huge, but in the end we all wear the same thing. Fashion, especially fast fashion, is all about fast consumption. Will this remain so, or is it time for more conscious and sustainable dressing?

The first edition of Friday Next, at the Next Nature Museum, looked at the future of fashion. Experts, pioneers and makers answered the question: what will fashion of tomorrow look like?

Future scenarios were discussed, from smart textiles to artistic, digital and even “living” innovations, and how technology is changing our view of clothing and identity. Jeroen Junte was the evening’s moderator, with presentations, fashion shows and tours.

In the Philips Hall, presentations were given by designer Jasna Rok, Zsofia Kollar and Marina Toeters.

Inspiring fashion shows took place in the dome with work by Soof Maria Stoop, Ruben Jurriën, Dasha Tsapenko, Julie Heij, Agnes van Dijk, Daan Sonnemans, Pauline Blind, Maja Blom, Holly Krueger, Kahrawan Suleiman, Milla Burden and Koen Giesen.

And there was work by the new generation of designers from Koning Willem I College and Summa Fashion Eindhoven i.s.m. LABELEDBY.
