Alieke Geerts

Alieke Geerts (1996) grew up in Brabant and lives in Utrecht. After graduating from SintLucas in Eindhoven and studying Communication and Multimedia Design – with a specialization in social and immersive design – she immersed herself in cultural anthropology. The combination of anthropological observation and design action now forms the core of her work.

As in De Rode Loper – a meters-high vulva installation in Utrecht – examines social taboos such as menstruation and the hormonal cycle. Alieke also works as a service designer at the municipality of The Hague, where she uses a design approach to improve services within civic integration.
