In the month of June, Arnhem is all about fashion, design and creativity. The June Fashion Month traditionally starts with the Fashion + Design Festival, where Arnhem talent takes centre stage. Under the title Ontrafelde Roots (Unravelled Roots), FDFA 2025 is entirely dedicated to Arnhem’s fashion history and the influence it still exerts today on the city’s creative identity. How did these roots of fashion and design originate, and how do they transform with the times?
Different angles
The festival offers several presentations, all of which are free to enter, in which these questions are approached from different angles. In the Eusebiuskerk, an exhibition celebrating 25 years of Collectie Arnhem is on show with a selection of 25 extraordinary creations. Collectie Arnhem is a recurring project by third-year ArtEZ fashion students and is an important reflection of changing design practice.

Rozet Arnhem shows a presentation of several makers connected to Arnhem selected through an open call. These designers are invited to reflect on the current zeitgeist with fresh eyes. What makes Arnhem a fashion centre today? In Arnhem’s city centre, shop windows are filled with creations by well-known designers who graduated in Arnhem. This literally gives the city a face of its fashionable past and future.

That fashion and Arnhem are inextricably linked shows June Fashion Month every year. Join the fashion party. Because fashion in Arnhem is as diverse as the people who inhabit or visit this city.
