During the Deventer Interior Design Days (DiDD), from October 1 to 5, 2025, TILT will present Alex de Witte and Floris Meijer. Both product designers work at the intersection of art and design and are fascinated by the influence of the process on the end result.
Alex de Witte
Alex de Witte creates objects and installations in which scale, form and light play a central role. He also likes to intervene in the production process; on the one hand to allow this intervention to determine the end result, and on the other hand to create a unique object in which the manipulation is recognisable and clearly visible. In addition to physical works, he also explores digital translations of form and movement, exploring the boundaries between matter and image, between 2D and 3D. This creates a practice in which experiment, process and end result are inextricably linked.
Floris Meijer
Floris Meijer creates light objects, furniture and accessories in which he explores the properties of materials, but also likes to disrupt and manipulate production methods. Of course, you can use a 3D CNC milling machine to make a finished product, but why shouldn’t that milling machine be the mould from which you create the finished product? This is a typical question Floris asks himself when developing a design and working towards a finished product.
TILT Designhub
TILT is a space where a wide audience can engage with design. They organise exhibitions, lectures, workshops, a monthly design café and knowledge sessions that focus on design.
TILT is more than just a public space; the building houses a number of agencies that are active in the design world: studio KERN, Golbach & Co, Studio Ghost, Vormbaas and Studio Susan Bijen. These companies share a love of design, film, street culture, architecture, furniture design, music and everything in between. With monthly events, TILT brings the diversity of design to Deventer and the surrounding area in an accessible way.
