This year, the Crafts Council Nederland once again presented the Crafts Award during Dutch Design Week, a prize for exceptional craftsmanship, dedication and knowledge sharing.
The award went to Loret Karman: master dyer, knitter and inspirer. Loret recently announced her retirement, but her work, knowledge and energy continue to inspire.

The collaboration with Loret dates back to the very beginning of Crafts Council Netherlands, some twelve years ago. Together, they have organised countless masterclasses, discovered new talent and built bridges between makers, designers and institutions. Loret shares her knowledge with generosity and passion, a true master of her craft.

Soon there will also be plenty of opportunities to meet Loret and her team at the Scheepvaartmuseum in Amsterdam. Come to the knitting consultations, the Amsterdam knitting colours workshop or the haute couture knitting masterclass. Register via craftscouncil.nl.
