The Association of Dutch Designers (BNO) launched the sixth edition of the leading Dd, Dutch Designers Yearbook, on 22 January at the Werkwarenhuis in Den Bosch, with this year’s theme being Undercurrents. Presented in hardcover form, the publication provides the definitive overview of a year of Dutch design and highlights relevant developments within the profession.

Undercurrents
The Dd Yearbook ’25–’26 looks back on the past year and ahead to the future of Dutch design, offering a broad perspective on what designers are working on. Based on the theme Undercurrents, it highlights hopeful counter-movements with which the design sector is responding to the challenges of our time. The book is full of examples of young and established designers who are developing new perspectives on topics such as sustainability, technology and coexistence.

New perspectives in design
The book contains interviews with Ramon Amaro, the new creative director of the Design Academy Eindhoven, Studio Humade and design experts Ninke Bloemberg, Yassine Salihine and Viola van Alphen, as well as essays by Nynke Tromp, director of PONT, and Maarten H. Lamers, specialist in Creative Intelligence & Technology at Leiden University. In addition, the Dd Yearbook offers a selection of inspiring final projects from Dutch design programmes, award-winning design cases and work by influential designers such as Max Kisman, Yuri Veerman, Eva Mels, Vera van der Burg, Modem, Rudy Guedj and Céline Hurka.

This makes the publication a prime example of the diversity, inventiveness and clout of the Dutch design landscape. The publication is an indispensable reference work on the evolving design sector, for designers, clients, policymakers, educational institutions and other design enthusiasts.
