Circulair Warenhuis – Woolfiller
On Thursday 20 May, Heleen Klopper from Woolfiller will visit the Circular Department Store and explain how they can felt carpets with interesting wear spots. These old carpets with holes are growing. Two textile techniques come together: refined carpet knotting and rampant felting. One technique reserved for distinguished designs of flowers and gardens, the other for nomads.
Woolfiller repairs holes and hides stains in woollen jumpers, cardigans, jackets and carpets, for example. How? By embracing the specific character of wool. The fibres of wool contain minuscule scales which open up when pricked with a felt needle. The open scales bind together and will not separate. Not even in the wash. Woolfiller can be used with a special machine or by hand. It is simple, durable and satisfying. A new solution to an age-old problem.
