The kick off of the Milan Design Week!
ONE WEEK ABOUT Masterly – The Dutch in Milano byNicole Uniquole, founder and curator of Masterly.
Enter the palace steps of Palazzo Francesco Turati and be seduced by the best design the Netherlands has to offer.
Masterly’s selected designers make the most of the Palazzo’s historic elements with wonderful sitespecific presentations. What is a Palazzo without a prestigious marble staircase with meter-high mirrors and magnificent ceiling paintings? Do we see age and decay here now? No, it’s Lizan Freijsen’s fungi. Her tufted collection pieces fit wonderfully into this beautiful staircase.
At the top of the stairs you enter the wonderful world of Workingbert. His colorful prints on wallpaper and curtains, based in part on the Palazzo’s wall hangings, enchant. Count Francesco Turati, the cotton merchant who built the property in the 19th century, would have enjoyed having his Palazzo provide so much inspiration.
