WDCD LIVE – Saskia van Stein
Ahead of What Design Can Do Festival, on June 3 in Amsterdam, we introduce some of the speakers. Today we present Saskia van Stein.
Saskia van Stein is an independent curator, moderator, and educator based in the Netherlands. Saskia van Stein, director of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR), as well as head of the Critical Inquiry Lab at the Design Academy in Eindhoven. Previously, she was Director at Bureau Europa, a platform for architecture and design in Maastricht. From 2003 to 2012, she worked as a curator at the Netherlands Architecture Institute in Rotterdam. With her strong cultural and social commitment, van Stein lectures frequently at various institutes and serves on multiple juries and advisory committees.
Over the years, she has been involved in the What Design Can Do Festival as moderator, and she was a member of the international jury of the ‘Clean Energy Challenge’. This year she will will be the moderator of ‘The Impact of Creativity’ breakout session. During this part of the festival programme, industry experts inspire and educate innovators on how to identify, increase – and even redefine – the impact of their work. Can – and should – we work towards a standard for the creative sector?
