Martijn Engelbregt

Martijn Engelbregt (1972) was born in The Hague and grew up in Waarland. He graduated cum laude from HKU Graphic Design in 1996. With his creative work, at the intersection of engaged art and autonomous design, Martijn was a forerunner of Social Design in the Netherlands.

He is known for projects such as ‘Tegenscript’, which provides a rebuttal to telephone surveys, ‘Medicijnfabriek’ and ‘Sexpack Leuterbier’, which facilitates frank conversations between men about sex. Engelbregt exhibited and presented outside the Netherlands at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Antwerp, Los Angeles, Helsinki, Finland, Ljubljana and Slovenia, among others.
