Simone de Waart

Simone de Waart (1967) designed and developed new materials since graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven, after which she expanded her expertise with a master’s degree in Design Management at EUrib Institute Rotterdam.

She pioneered in the field of design research into materials and sustainability, including as program coordinator for Design Academy, and for biobased materials at the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam, among others. She has been an associate professor at TU/e Industrial Design since 2002. Simone gives master classes internationally that focus on the creative making process in relati on to sustainable materiality, she publishes and works as a curator for exhibitions.
