Since 2021, after 19 years, graphic designer Dennis Koot is making posters again for Pulchri Studio. The series from 2003-2004, which he made at Studio Dumbar, received a lot of attention at the time and won a golden ADCN Lamp, Red Dot Award, Dutch Design Award nomination and was published in magazines and books. With the new series, he is trying to take a different visual route for the spring and autumn salons of The Hague’s artists’ club. “I don’t want it to be a repetition or a weak imitation of the past. I therefore impose a rule on myself that the posters must be typographic. Black-on-white with only a few colours, fitting the season. With remodelled or self-manufactured letters, it ensures a powerful message and the image is not confused with the art of the members who are participating in the exhibition.”
