During Dutch Design Week, we will be introducing you to the festival’s Hidden Gems. Special locations who we feel are the stand-outs of this edition.
BioArt Laboratories functions as a gateway to a world of unlimited possibilities where science, nature, technology and creativity go hand in hand. These domains together form the foundation for a sustainable bio-based community which offers ample room for the thinking and creating human.
As pioneers, they offer an inspiring environment to experiment, and to develop new ideas. BioArt Laboratories encourages the cross over amongst different domains in order to achieve innovative materials and creative solutions. To achieve this goal, they facilitate the development of international top-talents and trained experts.
BioArt Village
In the midst of a green realm in Strijp, Eindhoven lies their BioArt Village, located in a beautifully located military bunker complex build by the German army during the Second World War. At this site they are realizing a self-supporting location, applying a circular approach to all of their resources and waste materials. The BioArt Village will be a crossover hotspot where science, arts and nature meet: there is a fully functional hybrid laboratory, numerous ateliers and nature is right outside the door.
