Inspired by the Cold War, the era of constant nuclear threat, Minivegas visualizes the current reality of global cyber-attacks. Based on live data submitted by Kaspersky Internet Security software, their CyberMap presents an interactive globe showing cyber-attacks around the world in real time.
Among other things, visitors can see where the attacks take place, where they come from and the type of virus that is detected. They can also see which countries are most affected and they can filter by different types of viruses.
The CyberMap has been online since last year and previously won the Site of the Day and Cutting Edge Award at The FWA, was a finalist in the Webby’s, and won Silver at the SpinAwards. Minivegas has recently performed an update adjusting the fonts, colors, menu structure, statistics filter and fly-through option. Minivegas is currently working on a mobile version of the site.
