From 19 to 27 October, Eindhoven will host the 23 edition of Dutch Design Week. Dutch Design Daily highlights a number of hidden gems during the festival period. Today Area Piet Hein Eek, with Dirk Duif, Snackbar Esthetica, Scheublin & Lindeman Studio, WhiteNoiseDada and Studio Rens.

Dirk Duif
In his designs, Dirk Duif seamlessly blends aesthetics and functionality, often using sculptural elements that challenge traditional design norms. Duif’s fascination with different materials plays a central role in his practice, as he carefully selects and manipulates them to tell their own story.

Snackbar Esthetica
‘The Snack Bar‘ is a studio space run by four friends and makers, working individually and collectively. Collectively, they represent ‘Snack Bar Esthetica’ as an artistic collective that creates, curates and presents art and design objects with their own playfulness. For the Dutch Design Week they have build the ‘Snackbar Esthetica’ installation at Piet Hein Eek.

Scheublin & Lindeman Studio
Scheublin & Lindeman is the design studio of Lotty Lindeman and Wouter Scheublin. During Dutch Design Week, the doors of the studio will be open and they will show their multidisciplinary collection. Graphic panels executed in textile and paper complement the furniture collection and show an interesting dialogue between 2D and 3D work.

WhiteNoiseDada
The retrospective of WhiteNoiseDada, founded by Klaas Kuiken and Charley Reijnders, offers a fascinating insight into five years of creative exploration and innovation. Located in Atelier No. 15 in the Piet Hein Eek setting, this showcase highlights their journey of challenging conventional norms through art and design. The work, ranging from bold experiments to socially conscious projects, reflects their commitment to questioning the status quo and exploring new frontiers.
Central to this exhibition is their use of waste materials, transforming discarded items into thought-provoking works of art that challenge the throwaway mentality of contemporary culture. With humor and satire, they reveal the absurdities of our consumer society.

Studio RENS
RENS is dedicated to thorough and context-specific design research. At the heart of their work lies an open-minded process of methodical observations and in-depth inquiries into colours and materials. Driven by curiosity, the design process is paramount and questions are the key. They showcase six vibrant new designs, each pushing the boundaries of scale. A mix of research, exploration and classic influences with a fresh twist.
