ONE WEEK ABOUT Driving Dutch Design by curators Patrick Aarts Sen (BNO) and Katja Lucas (DDF). Over the next few days, we show the Drivers of 2024, Marloes Verhofstadt is one of them.

“I am participating in Driving Dutch Design’s program this year because I want to professionalize as a brand and web designer. I help small, passionate entrepreneurs, companies and organizations tell their beautiful, social, creative, cultural and societal story: visualizing their identity.”

“I would also like to develop as a maker. Making autonomous work as a designer as well is very valuable to me. I have a love for old printing techniques and find the contrast with my work for clients: digital, pixel-perfect and a fast process very interesting. I magnify that contrast by working completely analog and embracing the unique craft and its imperfection. I like to paint with ink and use these graphic drawings as the basis for colorful screen prints and Risoprints. I would like to exhibit the outcome of these during Dutch Design Week.”

“At DDD, various master classes give you pause to consider what your goals and dreams are and how you can best get there. But the most important thing about Driving Dutch Design? The co-drivers, because how fun is it to be back in class with super driven, creative, entrepreneurial, inspiring designers!”

Driving Dutch Design is the professionalisation and networking programme of Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO), Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) and Stichting Stokroos that helps talented designers get started in the world of entrepreneurship.
