Museums are fascinating storytellers. Stories are told through their collections and buildings, but also by the people that work there. When you work there, you want to share those stories with everyone. Sadly, most of these stories are presented and interpreted from one perspective, excluding a lot of people. By starting to ask critical questions, museums can become more inclusive – making them places for new encounters that are open to new perspectives. The animation prompt museum workers to ask those questions.

In the animation we tried to be inclusive as well. We used colourful intersectional characters. No stereotypes, that reflect the many faces of society.

STUDIO i is the platform for inclusive culture, an initiative by the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Van Abbe Museum Eindhoven. The animation was produced by Studio Wim.
