Atelier Makr, founded by Marie van der Kroft, focuses on interaction within design: objects are not static, but respond to their environment and the user. Through experimentation and research, the material itself plays a big role in shaping the final outcome.
Impress
This cabinet plays with the idea that furniture should be static. Its shape transforms as it is used, with both you and the material influencing its final form. “Impress” uses wooden planks and flexible metal sides to create something that changes with you, making each piece unique.

Pressence
A new series of flexible metal lamps, where form emerges from the natural tension of the material—set and shaped by the user.
The metal wraps organically around the base, sculpting itself through its inherent properties. This creates a dynamic interaction, a continuous dialogue between the flexibility of the material and the influence of the user, blurring the boundary between design and collaboration. Each lamp becomes a unique, sculptural object—its final shape defined by both the behavior of the material and the tension applied.
