In Memoriam Jan van Toorn  (1932 – 2020)

Graphic designer Jan van Toorn passed away on Friday, November 13, at the age of 88.

‘That evening in Museum Fodor in November 1972, Van Toorn spoke about the attitude of the graphic designer towards his public, an independent position in relation to his client and the consequences for the message: how to tackle the subject and the effects on image editing and design. Classic rules and conventions within the design world had to be broken down. It was a decade where people thought in terms of contrast and searched for them.’
