Since last Saturday, the work of the animation trio Job, Joris & Marieke can be enjoyed in several places. On Saturday 26 February, the exhibition A Triple Life about their work opened in the Kunsthal, and on Sunday 27 February, the first episode of their series Kop Op, which they made for the VPRO, was broadcast.
In the exhibition A Triple Life, the visitor steps into the universe of the animation trio. They delve deeper into the creative process and the thinking behind their work. And especially for the exhibition, they also made a new work: ‘Nobody’. This is a video mapping experience about the obsessive Instagrammer Florian, who one day takes so many selfies that there is nothing left of him but a shadow.
Job Roggeveen (1979), Joris Oprins (1980), and Marieke Blaauw (1979) met at the Design Academy Eindhoven where they discovered their shared passion for storytelling. To them animation proved to be an ideal medium to unite storytelling and design. Job, Joris & Marieke: “We are happy and honoured to have been asked by the Kunsthal. To us this exhibition is an opportunity to introduce a wide audience to our work in a more profound way and show the Kunsthal visitors how our projects are realised.”
