The annual Kaboom Animation Festival – this year from 21 to 30 March in Utrecht, Amsterdam and online – presents the latest, most creative, innovative and daring (inter)national animation productions. Over the next few days, we show some of the Dutch participants, today Naomi Voet.
Naomi Voet
The often absurdist work of Naomi Voet combines witty dialogue with raw line drawings to provide a surreal snapshot of the inner worlds of her unique characters. Her films draw inspiration from pub stories, reality TV and the painful topics most of us would rather avoid.
“Mother’s Child” (2024), exposes the everyday complications of having an adult child with a mental disability who requires intensive care.
