LABEL/BREED is a new initiative focused on establishing collaborations between designers and manufacturers in order to develop innovative interior objects. From 14 to 29 April LABEL/BREED will present its ‘Collection 1.00’ at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. For this first collection the designers – Christien Meindertsma, Marleen Kaptein, Studio Wieki Somers, Chris Kabel and DEMAKERSVAN – collaborated with manufacturers that work with innovative fabrication processes.
Stijn Roodnat, co-initiator of LABEL/BREED: “The Netherlands is home to revolutionary designers and a thriving manufacturing industry with a wealth of specialist knowledge and expertise in novel technologies and processes. We feel it is essential to keep on fostering collaborations and strive to maintain this quality.”
LABEL/BREED selects and brings together designers and manufacturers so that unique concepts using unconventional fabrication processes can find their form. Throughout the process, LABEL/BREED consults directly with the designer and manufacturer to ensure that the collaboration is fruitful and mutually beneficial, and will result in products of the highest possible standard.
