Last week, just like many other design lovers, designer Leonne Cuppen (Yksi) visited Milan Design Week 2016. She made For Dutch Design Daily a selection of four Dutch designers/collectives which particularly drew her attention.

Meaningful Encounters
“Five projects by not yet graduated (!) designers of HKU design (Utrecht School of the Arts). On site, the students had meetings with fellow designers, the public and random passers-by. They presented sustainable topics, such as the circular economy, which aims at creating sustainable spaces and materials. Maybe blue would have been better
“Also the work by Jeroen Wand and Mieke Meijer, who had a joint presentation for the second time in Lambrate, really stood out. Their new installation ‘Scenery’ included objects like Laminated Shelving, Membrane Cabinet, Tripod Vases, and others.”
Envisions
“The work displayed in this group exhibition focused on insights into different phases of the design process that the public normally never sees.
