On 12 June, during the “(Re)generative Archives” symposium, we proudly launched the new website of the Network of Archives of Design and Digital Culture (NADD): nadd.network. This site is the place where the rich archive material on Dutch designers, design agencies, design duos and makers from the field of design and digital culture comes to life.

What can you find?
The website brings together information from archives, museums and other collections in a growing online platform. You will discover how designers are connected, dive into history and find surprising cross-links in the world of design and digital culture – all based on open data and Wikidata.
What can you do with it?
Whether you are a designer, student, archival professional, researcher, curator or just curious about design history, the website invites you to browse, discover and search. You can link directly to museum collections, archival information, maker websites, read biographies or contribute yourself to making designers and makers from underexposed groups more visible. NADD encourages the active reuse of heritage and calls on everyone to help build a more inclusive, richer and more findable design memory.

Why this website?
Design and digital culture deserve a place in the collective memory. With this website, NADD lays the foundation for a digital infrastructure that provides sustainable access to design history and invites people to build on it. This is how they work towards a more inclusive and richer design story of the Netherlands.
What else is NADD doing?
In addition to the website, the Network Archives Design and Digital Culture works on the future of design archives in the Netherlands. They organize public programs, encourage preservation and management of archives, and help designers and institutions through workshops such as How to Archive Better. Commissioned by OCW, they focus on raising awareness, promoting expertise and sharing knowledge. This is how they build a sustainable infrastructure in which heritage from design and digital culture becomes more findable, usable and visible – for everyone.
