“If someone says to me, just imagine … then I’m immediately 25 years younger, sitting cross-legged on the ground, huddled in a blanket, looking up intently, and imagining all the words that pass by.
My imagination has always given me the freedom to believe that anything is possible, that figments of the imagination can become reality. My work therefore often comes into being on the bridge between reality and fiction. A mix of these worlds provides recognition and alienation, something that greatly stimulates the creative spirit. My love for shapes, material and light has resulted in stop motion animation being the perfect medium for me to express myself.
And I consider myself very lucky to be able to do this in collaboration with other talented designers such as Borre Akkersdijk, Maarten Baas and rENs. In our activities, we often share the penchant for shape, material and storytelling.”
