Independent Creative Director Alex Normanton has spent the last few months creating a brand and a new podcast about ‘creative wellness’. In other words – putting positivity back into the ears and minds of people working within the creative industry. Whimsically entitled DOPA (The Department of Pro-Activeness), it has been established to ‘Fuel conversations around creative wellness’ and spread positivity around the industry.
How can we (people within the creative industry) keep our minds free from negativity, doubt, fear and self-sabotage? How can we start to speak positivity into the negative thoughts that disrupt our creative minds on a daily basis? We need to talk more about these mental barriers. We need to give practical advice, tools, support and encouragement to the industry and facilitate the future generation. The sustainability of the creative industry relies upon looking after its people, avoiding burn-out and giving them tools to unlock creative mental success.
Contributors include Graham Sturt, Creative Director and Partner at D8 (a strategic design and branding agency with studios in Amsterdam and Glasgow) and Nikki Gonnissen, Co-founder, director and designer at thonik, Amsterdam with other interesting interviewees planned.
“My hope for this passion project is that it re-energises people; fuels their creativity and gives practical tools for creative mental success”, says Alex Normanton.
The podcast is now live on all good podcast outlets including Spotify, Apple, Anchor.
