The building that used to be ‘Pompen & Verlouw’ in the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch is going to be the perfect place for Dutch Design: with contemporary interiors, surprising food design and 65 years of ceramic design all under one roof, Pompen & Verlouw NOW connects cultural heritage with contemporary design. The Ford garage bearing the same name and equipped with a showroom and a repair shop has moved to the outskirts of the city, and this monumental heritage is now a strategically located design hotspot that serves as a stepping stone between modern and historical Den Bosch.
Under the heading Pompen & Verlouw NOW, four companies aim to visibly strengthen the role of the city as inspirer of the creative industry in a building and a city district that embody the past as well as the present. A building that breathes cross-pollination, radiates design and where food and craftsmanship are shared. MisterDesign, Cor Unum, DRT Gietvloeren and restaurant Garage Pompen & Verlouw have the intention to jointly develop this historic commercial property into a place-to-be for design, a place where creators and buyers meet, where artisanal production and contemporary products are visible and where artists, designers, students and people with difficulties entering the job market find sustainable and creative accommodation. Encounters that also will take place at the indoor restaurant with a pure kitchen when it comes to food and food design.
