Sensor Lab is a foundation, focused on the education, exploration, creation and development of sensor and smart technologies. Aiming to bring the smart technology community in Utrecht together, Sensor Lab provides a space, technology, hardware and equipment to perform smart technology experiments.
As such, the design of this identity uses well-known symbols of connected and sensor devices, such as the WiFi and GSM symbols, as a visual language. This was used together with the characteristic triangle shape that is also used as a symbol for Utrecht, the place were Sensor Lab is located. The symbols are used in different combinations to create a generative logo that is always recognisable.
The bold iconography and experimental style appeals to the explorational curiosity and nature of the target group of technologists, designers, students and hobbyists.
