Greenland is facing increasing pressure from outside forces that question its autonomy. For countries with small populations, sovereignty is not abstract. It is existential. Immaqa is our way of expressing solidarity.
By wearing this shirt, you show your support for the people of Greenland and their undeniable right to self-determination. The shirts are sold at cost price. Everyone involved contributes voluntarily and without profit.

Why Immaqa
Immaqa is a Greenlandic word meaning maybe, perhaps, or let’s see. It reflects life in the Arctic, where plans are shaped by weather, ice and uncertainty. It expresses a cultural acceptance of unpredictability and the need to stay flexible.
What’s on the shirt
The design brings together key Greenlandic symbols, carefully embroidered on a premium quality t-shirt:
- Erfalasorput, the Greenlandic flag, symbolising the rising sun over the polar ice and Greenland’s historical ties with Denmark.
- Kalaallit Nunaat, the Greenlandic name for their land: ‘Land of the Greenlanders’.
- The polar bear from the Coat of Arms, representing Greenland’s wildlife. The bear raises its left paw, in line with traditional Inuit belief that polar bears are left-handed.

Immaqa is an non-profit project and an initiative of Dutch creatives Jeroen Disch & Jelmer Boomsma.
