The Sound Posters by Trapped in Suburbia, Bureau for Visual Communication from The Hague, combine printing with electronics. They are developed as part of a series of experiments in which the digital and the analog were brought together.
Sound Poster 1.0 uses conductive ink and a synthesizer. By touching the ink, you close an electronic circuit, creating sound. You can change this sound by moving your hand across the poster or by pressing harder or more gently.
Sound Poster 2.0 is an installation for multiple users. It uses seven samples with which the users can make a composition themselves.
Sound Poster 3.0 originated from the idea of the forbidden fruit and the primordial urge to blow something up, just for once. If it says, “Can’t touch this”, will you still touch it?
