State of Fashion is an international fashion platform where alternatives  to the current fashion system are given a stage, which critically reflects on the fashion industry and its user. It offers a podium for innovation, gives space for discussion, brings makers, industry and end users with the question: how fashion can contribute to a better world. can contribute to a better world.

State of Fashion Biennale | Ties that Bind can be visited from May 17 to June 30. Ties that Bind brings creative practices in fashion, textiles and contemporary art from the Global South to Arnhem, following previous showings in Nairobi, Bengaluru and São Paulo. This decentralized State of Fashion edition is curated by Louise Bennetts and Rachel Dedman in collaboration with local curators Sunny Dolat, Kallol Datta and Hanayrá Negreiros. Throughout the period, exhibitions, talks, workshops and activations will be on display at the Rembrandt Theater, along with several installations at Museum Arnhem and Rozet. Artists and designers from all over the world respond with their creative practices to the four main themes within the central theme Ties that Bind.
