ONE WEEK ABOUT Driving Dutch Design by curator Patrick Aarts Sen (BNO). Over the next few days, we show the Drivers of 2025, Kim Hameetman is one of them.

With qoncept studio, Kim Hameetman explores how images can connect, question and give meaning. Her work moves between art, design and social issues, with an eye for context and the power of imagination.

Her projects range from participatory art in social environments to visual systems for dialogue and reflection. She explores how images can serve as a means of telling stories, evoking emotions and sparking conversations, regardless of their form. What Kim creates is rooted in stories, sometimes personal, sometimes collective, and always focused on creating meaningful connections.

‘Draagt u ook uw steentje bij?’ (Will you contribute too?) – visual arts in collaboration with an athletics club.

In her work, the boundaries between disciplines blur. She moves effortlessly between design, education and art, with a keen eye for context and people. Whether she works independently or in co-creation, the common thread remains design with impact.

Kim does not see herself as the end point, but as a translator. Between people, contexts and stories, searching for a form that fits. She researches, listens, imagines and creates designs that not only communicate, but also encourage thinking, feeling and connecting. At qoncept studio, it’s not about quick fixes, but about real stories that stick.

‘Vis een Visie’(Fish a Vision) – visual concept for collecting data on the rejuvenation of art and culture.

Driving Dutch Design programme
Driving Dutch Design gave me exactly what I needed: focus, insight and structure. In 2023, it was still too early, but now everything fell into place. I learned to establish my practice more firmly – as a creator and entrepreneur. The guidance was stimulating and engaging, and the group was diverse and inspiring. The foundation is in place, and I am happy to continue building on it.

‘Ik zie je vervagen, maar ik vergeet je niet’(I see you fading, but I won’t forget you) – pop-up art installation during memorial evenings.

Driving Dutch Design
Driving Dutch Design is the professionalisation and networking programme of the Dutch design sector that helps driven designers get started in the world of creative entrepreneurship. Besides Design your business and Design your identityfor startups, in 2025 there is also DDD Next Level for mid-career designers.

The organisation is in the hands of the BNO and the programme is supported by Stichting Stokroos and the Cultuurfonds, thanks in part to the Ahrend Fonds.
