The catalogue De Best Verzorgde Boeken 2018 | The Best Dutch Book Designs 2018 was this year designed by the Frisian designer Gert Jan Slagter. In addition to the jury report, which was written by juror Eelco van Welie, Tsead Bruinja, the Dichter des Vaderlands (The National Poet of the Netherlands), has especially written a poem in which he pays a tribute to the book. The catalogue appears in 33 different colors of linen bindings (Brillianta supplied by Van Heek Textiles), a festive greeting to the 33 winners.
The catalogue is the result of a broad collaboration in the graphic sector: the lithography was done by Marc Gijzen, the paper was supplied by Igepa Nederland and as many as ten different printers have collaborated: Printing company RADROTERSSP, Printing company Tielen, Printing company Tienkamp, Gianotten printed Media | Unicum, Lenoirschuring, Muller Visual, NPN Printers, robstolk®, Wilco BV | Books and Magazines, and Zwaan Printmedia. Bookbinder Van Waarden is responsible for the binding.
