Dutch design heritage

As a student at the Rietveld Academy, Ron van Roon discovered that practice suited him better than the academy. He left the Rietveld, found clients everywhere and started his own Studio Ron van Roon (later Rouwhorst + Van Roon), which for fifty years produced eye-catching posters, logos, leaders and book covers. Van Roon’s style: freedom, verve and craftsmanship – and always just that little bit different. Major clients included: VPRO, NOS, Nijgh & Van Ditmar publishers, Podium publishers, CPNB and Triodos Bank.

Dutch Graphic Roots is a series of online publications and aims at generating attention to the roots of Dutch graphic design culture. Read the complete Roots article about Ron van Roon on dutchgraphicroots.nl.Portrait photo: Aatjan Renders
