The book is a tribute to women and feminine values; intended for anyone interested in an inspiring and hopeful perspective for the future.
The Collective Portfolio brings together 165 female designers who work within ten disciplines, such as: architecture & urban development, nature & landscape, product & material, fashion & textile, food, science & bio design, art & social design and personal development. The 165 designers are women from different cultural backgrounds and at various stages of their careers.
The major challenges of our time, such as climate change, social inequality, revolutions in information and biotechnology and increasing polarization, call for a new approach, for the use of feminine values on a larger scale. Collaboration, connection, harmony with nature, designing with an eye for future generations and creating social value deserve a central place in our society.
Ligtenberg’s mission is to make female designers more visible with her platform SHE IS COOOL, to show their innovation potential and to generate collective impact for a better world. The importance of this mission is endorsed by the SHE IS COOOL ambassadors, a number of established female designers, such as Claudy Jongstra, Marjan van Aubel, Rianne Makkink, Carlijn Kingma, Atelier NL and Alessandra Covini.
