GLUE Utrecht is transforming the city into a stage for design once again

From May 8 through 10, the city will once again transform into a vibrant network of design. Across Utrecht, designers, makers, cultural institutions, and creative initiatives will showcase their work at a variety of locations. From studios and shops to historic buildings and unexpected spots—each location offers its own unique context in which design can be experienced in an accessible way. GLUE Utrecht is organized by Giulia Dunes and Laurens Deuling.

On Friday, May 8, GLUE founder David Heldt gave a guided tour to Dutch Design Daily community members, highlighting several key spots at GLUE Utrecht. See the photo report below.

Cocoon House
From the company’s birthplace, the home of Sander van Eyck we present a surprising and colorful exhibition featuring special guest designers and new discoveries. A mix of vibrant contemporary design, art, and a carefully curated collection of new and vintage pieces. Featuring work by Studio Alex de Witte, Niels Stoeltie, Atelier NVMBR, and Momo Rugs.

ECHO – From Residue to Form
ECHO is a group exhibition bringing together 14 designers around a shared material origin. For this edition during GLUE Utrecht, aluminium, sourced from local industry partner Nedal Aluminium, forms the starting point. Featuring work by Eenvoud Ontwerp, Ewol Guitars, Frank Penders, Frederik Wasseur, Jan Willem van Elten, Marc Th. van der Voorn, Offsite, Ritsert Mans, Studio Beeks, Studio Jeroen van Veluw, Studio Kars en Boom, Studio Metaform, Studio Wantia, ZOWA.

WONDERS interiors
For years, WONDERS has been the leading specialist in contemporary solid wood furniture from Japan. During GLUE Utrecht, ceramic works by Ineke van der Werf will be on display.

Mies Interieur
Mies Interieur opens the doors to its world of interior design, a world where unique homes take shape through custom solutions. Featuring work by Kim Zoutewelle, Studio Beeks, Goof Mosmans, Minoesch Beeldstroo, Studio Yvonne Max, Muuto.

Noshirt
During GLUE, Noshirt Studio transforms into GLUE HUB, a meeting place where design and comfort complement each other. Featuring work by Mariekke Jansen ,Rein Reitsma, Working Bert.

De Fundatie van Renswoude
The Renswoude Foundation is a historic building that has exuded a quiet grandeur since the 18th century. During GLUE, at this historic site visitors can admire works by Remy Meijers Novel Grey, Alphenberg Leather, Tokio Tokio, Dofine, Gaggenau, Rep Ringel, Nilons Beds, Leon Mazairac, Niels van Zijl, Olie Schuiling, QLIV.

Centraal Museum
The Centraal Museum is participating in this three-day design tour again this year, featuring a new entrance and an exhibition in the garden room, both designed by Simone Post.

New talent HUB bij MOXY Hotel
Discover a selection of emerging designers in the lobby of the Moxy Hotel. Featuring work by Lois de Scheemaker, Otis van de Woestijne, Anika Greyling, Evie Donkers, Sarah Vreeken, Djenti Knippels, Crissi Apostolidis, Anne Weijs, Martijn Gigengack, Marian Genet, Jamie van Duuren, Lou Bolinger, Nemo Mulder. Curated by Meike van Schijndel.
